Scopecast enters a pilot phase
Scopecast, my stereo video streamer for Windows, is now ready for a pilot – live 3D video to web browsers and VR headsets from a single PC.
Scopecast has reached the point where it is ready for real use, and it is now moving into a pilot phase.
Scopecast takes two video sources – the left and right view of a stereo camera – and turns them into one live 3D picture. Viewers can follow along in an ordinary web browser, or in full 3D in a VR headset with Scopecast Viewer.
What it can do
- 3D or 2D, in full HD per eye – and a separate 2D stream alongside the 3D one when some viewers do not have a headset.
- Everything from one PC: Scopecast can serve the viewers itself on a local network, or send the stream to a server for viewers elsewhere.
- Presets that switch between picture layouts with a smooth fade, including picture-in-picture.
- A privacy button that covers the stream, the preview and the recording at once.
- Recording, a list of who is watching, an optional viewer password, and a virtual webcam for video meetings.
The result is smooth, sharp 3D video at 60 frames per second, also to headsets on Wi-Fi.
