The main site

The main pages of this site – the home page, notes, projects, about and contact – use no cookies, no tracking and no analytics. Nothing is stored in your browser.

Like all web servers, the server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, time and the page requested). These are used only to keep the site secure and running, and are deleted after a short period.

The contact form

When you send a message, your name, email address and message are sent to me by email. I use them only to reply to you. They are not shared with anyone else and are deleted when they are no longer needed.

To stop spam, the form briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to count messages sent in the last hour. It cannot be turned back into the address.

The water temperature page

The water temperature page is a separate service that may show Google AdSense ads and use Google Analytics to count visitors. Google can use cookies for this. When required, you are asked for consent in Google’s consent message, and you can change your choice at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you – in practice, messages you have sent through the contact form. If you think your information is handled incorrectly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
