Live VR streaming from the da Vinci Xi surgical robot
Live stereoscopic 3D video from the surgeon console to VR headsets, over the internet or a closed local Wi-Fi network. Used in robotic surgery training courses.
I have developed a system that streams live video from the da Vinci Xi surgical robot to VR headsets. The left and right camera views are combined side by side, giving viewers a true stereoscopic 3D image.
The stream can be distributed over the internet, or kept within a closed local Wi-Fi network for privacy. The system is used in robotic surgery courses and in the training of healthcare professionals.
